Question

QBO Japan Version

When will Intuit have a QBO version for Japan?

QBO doesn't support the Japanese language and it doesn't support the e-connection to pay local and national taxes. Their local accounting s/w does this.

We want to keep all our accounting around the world in QBO.

Thanks for giving QuickBooks the opportunity to help you with your accounting needs, @petep71.

I'd like to let you know that QuickBooks Online has a version for your region. All you have to do is to select Japan upon subscribing to the account. Here's a link that you can visit on how to choose your country for QBO: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.

However, the default language in QBO is English for all countries except for the following:

  •     Hong Kong: English and Traditional Chinese offered
  •     Mexico: Spanish offered
  •     France: English and French offered
  •     Brazil: English and Brazilian Portuguese
  •     Canada: English and French offered

In the meantime, since the Japanese language isn't available, you may consider using the Google Translate plug-in in Google Chrome. In Google Translate, you can select from multiple languages to translate the QuickBooks Online interface.

To do that:

  1. With your Google Chrome browser open, select on the three dots at the top.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Select Advanced, and press on Languages.
  4. Enable Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read
  5. Close the setting tab and sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  6. You will see the Google Translate icon appear at the end of the address bar; select the icon.
  7. On the pop-up Translate this page, select Options then, Change languages
  8. In the Translation Language drop-down, select the Japanese, select Always translate, and then Translate
