I submitted my client's 1099s via QBO but found out that one needs a correction. When can I expect to be able to send a correction? Quickbooks currently says 'early February' and 'check back soon.'

I've got some insights regarding the instructions for correcting the 1099 forms, @archienic58.

For the 2023 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms, if you e-file them with us, you can submit amended forms through QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Contractor Payments, or QuickBooks Payroll starting in 2024. Currently, we don't have a specific date for when the instructions will be available. You can check back later for updates.

For all other years, you'll need to work directly with the IRS to amend your 1099 forms manually. You can find instructions from the IRS on how to do so. Once you've corrected the forms, you'll need to provide the corrected return to the recipient or contractor yourself.

For reference, you can visit this article: Correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks.

If you need guidance on printing your 1099 forms, this article can help: Print your 1099 forms.

I'm still ready to back you up if you have other concerns besides the instructions for correcting the 1099 forms. Feel free to leave a reply.
