Account line items are blacked out

Hi,

Please see screenshot. The 2nd line in every entry in every account list is blacked out. I can view it if I click on it but I would just rather it be visible. Any ideas why this is like this and how to fix? I'm using QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020 and it is up-to-date.

I appreciate the screenshot. It helps me make sure that I provide you with the best solution.

To change the line item color in the register, here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Go to the Lists menu, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate and double click the account you want to open.
  3. Click the Edit menu at the top.
  4. Select Change Account Color.
  5. Choose the color you want.
  6. Click OK.

From there, the color of each line item in the register will change to the color you selected.

In case you'd encounter display issues on your account, here's a resource that you can check: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thanks! That did the trick. How odd that the default color was black.

This is great information.  However, are we supposed to do this to EVERY account this happens to? I'll be honest I haven't paid attention to the account when it does happen, I've just closed QBDT and reopened and that did the trick. I have been having this issue for years, literally, and no one had an answer as to why this was happening. Intuit should have a real fix for all the accounts.

Thanks,

D.
