Let me share some information about the admin and accountant user in QuickBooks Online (QBO), dclcoop.

If you are referring to user access roles, the primary and company admins get all access rights. When you assign the standard user role, QuickBooks lets you choose the user’s access rights and choose to give them all access, limited access, or none. When adding a new standard user, you'll see what they can or can't do on the screen.

While accountant users have additional privileges that let them undo entire reconciliations, reclassify transactions, and write off invoices. They can review your books, make corrections, collaborate on any issues, and use accountant-specific tools to help you prepare for taxes. To learn about the different options for user roles and access permissions, you can check out this article: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

If you need to invite your accountant, just follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu , then select Manage users.
  3. Choose the Accountants or Accounting firms tab.
  4. Enter your accountant’s email address, then click Invite.

You'll also want to view each of your user's activity by going to the Audit log report. For the detailed steps, refer to this link: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.
