Accountant Center in QBD not refreshing

I recently upgraded to QB Accountant Desktop 2023.  The Accountant Center will not refresh after I've reconciled an account.  I click on the 'Refresh' button, but nothing happens.  I have to completely close and reopen the Accountant Center, and then the correct balance and recon date info appears.  Is there some setting I'm missing that enables the 'refresh' command?

Hi there, davetodd.

I'm here to help make sure you're able to refresh the Accountant Center in QuickBooks Desktop Accountant 2023.

Let's isolate this issue by utilizing the Verify Data tool. It identifies known issues within company files and informs users if their Rebuild Data utility needs to be used afterwards.

Here's how it's used:

  1. Click Window, then Close All.
  2. In your top menu bar, go to File.
  3. Choose Utilities.
  4. Select Verify Data.

If its results show a "Your data has lost integrity," message, this indicates there's damage in your file. You can use the Rebuild Data utility to fix it.

For future reference, check out this article to learn more about the reconciliation process in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm always here to listen and guide you more if you have additional concerns while managing the Accountant Center. Take care!

The ‘Verify Data’ process found no issues.  Problem seems to be with the program - not the company file - as it is the same with all my company files.  Any other suggestions?

I appreciate you following my colleague's solution and sharing the result, davetodd.

Let's perform another one to get the Accountant Center working back to normal. The QuickBooks Tool Hub is a utility that can fix common errors and issues encountered while using the desktop program.  I'm here to help and guide you on how to lodge it.

Here's how:

  1. Be sure to close your QuickBooks.
  2. Then, download the latest version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub (1.6.0.0).
  3. Save it where you can easily find it.
  4. Next, open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe link.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
  6. Next, double-click the icon on your desktop to access the tool hub.

Here's an article that goes over the process and functions of each launchpad: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

I also included a link where you can access our online resources. It covers topics like account management, using Advanced accounting tools, managing banking-related tasks, and other accounting activities.

Reach out to me again if you have other concerns about QuickBooks or additional questions about the Accountant Center. I'm always willing to help in any way I can. Enjoy your weekend.

I'm having his issue too, and have been for several weeks. I use Quickbooks on my personal computer, and the server I log into for work, and none of the programs will update the accountant center after hitting refresh. It's terribly annoying.

I know how you wanted the Accountant center to work the way it used to. Let's make sure to perform the troubleshooting steps to fix the issue, sarahccpa.

But before we start, may I know if you have already tried the steps provided above? If not, you'll want to follow the solution given by my colleague Charies_M which is the Verify and Rebuild tool to resolve data issues.

If it's still not working, you can perform the rest of the steps provided. This ensures, that everything in your Accountant center will update and fixed. However, if nothing happens after performing all the possible solutions provided, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team so they can investigate why is this happening. To do so, you can follow what is outlined below:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account and select Continue and then Continue with my account.
    • If you don't already have an account, make sure to Create a new account.
  6. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
    • If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.
  7. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Furthermore, QuickBooks Desktop provides general troubleshooting information to fix the update errors. To know more about this, read this article for more details: Fix QuickBooks Desktop Update Errors.
