Im working on Chapter 13 of the Academic Year 2023-2024 Textbook and my Accounts Payable (for Raincross Auto Detailing) are not matching up to what the textbook says it should be. I have two bills in the register for Accounts Payable that if did not show up would make A/P match what it should be for the first week. They were bills received from companies for products, what went wrong? (and I apologize if this question was not posted in the correct place).

Hi there. Having you share your detailed concern is greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to guide you in handling the transactions in question.

You may have inaccurate data entry or payments that weren't applied to your bills. To resolve this, we can begin by checking the accuracy of the bills in the Accounts Payable register, ensuring that they've been recorded correctly with the right amounts and dates. Let's also review the two bills in question to determine if the payments have been properly applied to the bills. If not, link the payments with the respective bills by navigating to the +New button and selecting the Pay bills option.

You can also reconcile your accounts to ensure that your accounts consistently align with your bank and credit card statements. Then, review your beginning balance and identify any discrepancies in accounts you haven't previously reconciled.

You'll want to know the transactions affecting your balance sheet accounts. Refer to this article: Resolve accounts receivable or accounts payable balances on a cash basis balance sheet in QuickBooks Online.

You've mentioned that you're not in the correct place. Are you referring to getting help with Intuit Education? If so, you can contact them on their website: https://www.intuit.com/solutions/education/resources/support/.

You're always welcome to get back to us if you have further questions on managing your accounts payable within the program. I'll circle back to you promptly and supply the appropriate resources needed.
