Question

'Add subtotal' button missing

With the roll out of the new invoice features (Oct 2023), the "add subtotal" button is missing that used to allow subtotals throughout an invoice. I separate out invoices in sections and subtotal those sections, so this is a big issue for us. Is there another way to do this?

Hi joaniebones805,

I can imagine your challenges with the absence of the Add subtotal option in the New Invoice experience recently introduced in QuickBooks Online. I appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to my attention.

To ensure your feedback reaches the relevant team, I encourage you to submit it through QuickBooks. This will enable us to directly forward your feedback to our Product Development team, so they can consider reintroducing the Add subtotal option in future updates. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and thank you for your contribution in helping us enhance our services.

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Select Next to submit.

On the other hand, the new layout introduces a range of new features that can enhance your invoicing experience. To learn more about these features, please check out this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online. Then, go to the What you can do with the new estimates and invoices section.

Please feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance regarding the new invoicing experience. Take care and have a good one!
