I try to save an invoice after spending a long time creating it and frequently get "An application error has occurred while processing your request" and have to start all over again. Very frusturating. New QBO user and not happy already. Why does this happen?

I appreciate the time and effort you've spent navigating these challenges, Kasey. I'm here to ensure your experience with QuickBooksOnline (QBO) improves. Let's tackle this by exploring some troubleshooting steps that can help streamline your invoicing process.

If you're using QBO in a browser, make sure you are using a browser supported by QBO. Then, access your account using a private browsing window. This can help isolate and bypass any issues related to the browser cache that could affect the program's functionality.

Here are the shortcuts we can use depending on the browser you're using:

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl Shift P
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl Shift N
  • For Safari, hold down Command Shift N

If you can successfully create and save an invoice using a private browser, we can clear the stored cache on your regular browser.

However, if you encountered the error message while using the QBO mobile app. Let's refresh your data to ensure you have the latest information available in your QBO app. Consider uninstalling and reinstalling the QBO mobile app.

Additionally, for guidance on personalizing your invoices to create professional-looking sales forms, you may want to refer to the article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
