Autofilling numbers.

Is there a way to turn off auto population when entering part numbers? We carry multiple versions of a specific product and would like it to default on what is typed and not autofill to another version of that number.

 

Example: 

123 - Typed

123assy- Auto Default.

123assy4

Clark, I believe I have figured out my issue, some products are not categorized and when typing, it defaults away from an item in a subcategory first.
