The Print Later box will depend on what was set up on the previous transaction, Douglas. Since the system keeps checking the box even you have unchecked after creating multiple transaction, we can do initial troubleshooting by verifying and rebuild. I'll provide you with the steps.

To address this issue, we need to use the Verify Data utility to detect common data issues, such as missing transactions or corrupted data in the company file, which can potentially affect performance or reports.

If issues are found, the Rebuild Data utility can often fix them by repairing and correcting the identified problems. It serves as a repair tool that reconstructs the data in the background.

To Verify the company file data:

  1. Go to Window then select Close All.
  2. Go to File, then select Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.
  • QuickBooks detected no problems with your data: Your data is clean.
  • An error message: We can search for it on our QuickBooks Desktop support site to fix it.
  • Your data has lost integrity: Data damage was found in the file. Then we need to Rebuild your data to fix it.

To Rebuild the company file data:

  1. Go to FileUtilities, and then select Rebuild Data.
  2. When QuickBooks prompts you to create a backup, click OK to proceed, as a backup is necessary before rebuilding
  3. Choose a location to save your backup and click OK. Ensure you don't overwrite another backup file by entering a new File name before clicking Save.
  4. When you get the message Rebuild has completed, select OK.
  5. Then, go to File, select Utilities then select Verify Data again to check for additional damage.
  • If the verification process detects further damage, we need to manually fix it. We can search for the specific errors in the qbwin.log on the QuickBooks Desktop support site to find repair instructions.
  • If error can't be found, we can restore a recent backup. Go to File then select Open or Restore Company.

Also, don’t replace your existing company file. As you’ll need to enter the info into your company file again since the backup was created.

Moving forward, you can check this article on fixing PDF and print problems in QuickBooks Desktop. It highlights why addressing these issues is essential, as printing and generating PDFs are integral functions for business operations.

Additionally, running Check or Deposit Detail Reports will provide you detailed insights into cash transactions by linking them for better visibility, assisting with reconciliation, and improving cash flow  management.

You can streamline your workflow by ensuring that your printing preferences align with your business needs, Douglas.
