Best way to update credit card number

I understand the importance of seamlessly transitioning from the old credit card to the new credit card within QuickBooks Online (QBO) and ensuring that previous transactions from the old credit card are integrated with the new credit card transactions. To update the new credit card in QuickBooks, you'll need to disconnect the old, connected credit card account and reconnect it. However, before disconnecting your online banking, please ensure that all transactions have been categorized. Otherwise, all uncategorized transactions will be deleted.

Here's how to disconnect your old credit card account: 

1. Go to Transactions, then choose Banking.
2. Click the tile for the bank account.
3. Choose the pencil ✎ icon, then select Edit account info.
4. Select the Disconnect this account on the save checkbox.
5. Click Save and Close.

Once done, reconnect your new credit card account:

1. Go to Transactions and choose Banking.
2. Select Link account.
3. In the search field, enter the name of your credit card.
4. Click Continue. Then, enter your login credentials to your bank with your user ID and password.
5. Follow the on-screen steps.
6. Choose the accounts you want to connect, then select the account type ▼dropdown. Choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
