Question

Bill Upload

When uploading a bill is there a way to change the amount if it comes over wrong?  It is causing my bills to not match and attach the backup automatically.  Really wish they would just give us the ability to scan directly into QB again.  Every update just adds multiple steps and makes every single process more difficult.

Hi there, @bethlloyd01.

Dealing with bill uploads in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) can indeed be challenging, especially if discrepancies arise between the uploaded amount and the actual bill. Currently, QuickBooks does not allow direct scanning of bills into the software, requiring some manual intervention. Here's how you can adjust a bill amount and streamline your process:

Let's locate and edit your bills:

  1. After uploading the bills, navigate to Vendors and select Vendor Center.
  2. Locate the vendor and find the uploaded bill that needs correction.
  3. Double-click the bill to open it
  4. Modify the amount in the appropriate field if it's different from the actual bill you received.
  5. Save the bill.

While direct scanning into QuickBooks Desktop isn't available, you can consider using third-party applications that integrate with QuickBooks.

After that, you can start paying your bills seamlessly in QuickBooks Desktop.
