I'm just started using QB Desktop Premier for Nonprofits 2021.  The bottom of some of the windows is cut off so I can't see the buttons.  I've tried maximizing the window but there's no scrollbar either. How can I fix this?  I've attached a screenshot.

Hello there, CSSsomd.

Let me help you fix display issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you're using a new and high-resolution monitor, we may need to change your default settings for QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click on the Windows Start menu.
  3. Type "QuickBooks" into the search. Then right-click the QuickBooks icon and select Open file location.
  4. In the folder, right-click the QuickBooks.exe file and select Properties.
  5. Choose Compatibility tab.
  6. Select the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox. You can also select Change high DPI settings and then Override high DPI scaling behavior.
  7. Click on Apply, then OK.

That should fix any display issues with your QuickBooks, If you still see any issues, You can adjust your view preferences in QuickBooks.

Like this:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Edit menu.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Select Desktop View from the list and then the My Preferences tab.
  4. In the View section, select the One Window option.
  5. Click on OK.

Close and reopen QuickBooks and then check for any display issues. If the issue still persists, you can check this article and proceed to Step 3Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Get back to me and let me know how it goes. I'll be in touch. Have a nice weekend!

I don't see the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings setting.  I'm using Windows10 ver. 20H2 build [removed].  I attached a screenshot of what my Properties window looks like.

Thanks for getting back to us, @CSSsomd. Let's continue the troubleshooting process to see all the buttons on your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) window.

Since you're unable to access the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings option stated above, you'll next need to adjust your view preferences in QuickBooks. You can follow the second set of steps above, then refer to the screenshot below for your reference.

Once you're done, close and reopen QuickBooks and your company file. If the display issue persists, you may change your Windows display settings. Please know that doing this affects all programs on your computer, not just QuickBooks. With this, you may see other display issues. Here's how:

  1. Follow the steps from Microsoft to reset the default display settings for Windows 10.
  2. Set your screen resolution to at least 1024 x 768. We recommend 1920 x 1080 for the best display.
  3. When you're done, reset your computer, open QuickBooks and your company file.

Also, to further guide you in managing the growth of your business using QBDT, I'd recommend checking out this article: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about account management, banking, and expenses, to name a few. Then, click the + More topics button to view other selections and watch video tutorials to learn your way around the product.

Please keep me posted on how it goes. If you have other display concerns with QBDT, you can drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @CSSsomd.

You can adjust the screen settings on your desktop, @D_T 24. I'll explain this more below.

It seems like the opened window could be an error message or a note that is too large for your desktop resolution. To fix this, I recommend adjusting your display settings so that you can close the window. I'll walk you through the steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start menu and enter QuickBooks in the search. Then right-click the QuickBooks icon and select Open file location.
  2. Right-click the QuickBooks.exe file and select Properties in the folder.
  3. Go to the Compatibility tab, and choose the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox. Hit Change high DPI settings and then Override high DPI scaling behavior.
  4. Once done, tap Apply and then OK.

If the issue persists, ready this reference for the additional steps. You can follow the steps 2 and 3: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
