Can estimates and invoices only be sent via email? Or can you send them via text as well

Yes, you can send invoices and estimates via text, Kyle.

If you use QuickBooks Payments, you can directly send an invoice via text message. However, the option to send estimates directly is unavailable. Here's how to send an invoice:

 

  1. Go to Get Paid and then Invoices.
  2. Find the estimates you want to send and select View/Edit.
  3. Click Review and send.
  4. Enter the phone number and hit Send invoice.

 

On the other, you can still send estimates and invoices without QuickBooks Payments by copying the share link and sending it via SMS. Here are the detailed steps:

 

  1. Navigate to Get Paid and select either Estimates or Invoices.
  2. Locate the estimate/invoice you want to send and click View/Edit.
  3. From the Review and send dropdown, choose Share link.
  4. Select the Copy Link.
  5. Paste the link into the text message and send it to your customers.

I'm trying to use these features on mobile phone and I do not have the option to share it.

First, we can convert the estimate to an invoice, and then that's the time you can send the invoice via text message.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Login to your QuickBooks App.
  2. Then go to Estimates. Locate the transaction you want to send via text.
  3. Click the estimate, then click More actions.
  4. Select Mark as accepted. 
  5. Then, reopen the transaction. 
  6. Click Convert to make it an invoice.

 

Once converted, go to your invoices and send them via text by clicking the More button on the page.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In your app, go to Invoices. 
  2. Locate the invoice, then view it.
  3. Click the Email option, then close it to show the More button.
  4. Click the More option on the lower part of your page. 
  5. Select Share via, then choose messages to send to your customer.
