Question

Can I add one more contractor to e-filed 1099 NEC online? or For corrections, I should manually send it by mail to the IRS. The form has been submitted.

Welcome to the Community, @Tatiana6756. I appreciate your effort in posting your 1099s filing concerns in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

At this time, QuickBooks Online only allows you to file your 1099 once unless rejected by the IRS. This means you’re correct that any follow-up forms for remaining contractors, updates, or corrections can be made in a printed copy and sent in by mail directly to the IRS.

Thus, you’ll have to file your 1099-NEC for the other contractor directly to the IRS. You can order forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns.

Furthermore, you can view all forms you previously filed within QBO. They are available to view or print approximately 35 days after the end of the quarter. Check out this article for complete details: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.

Keep in touch if you have more questions about filing 1099s or any form of taxes. I’ll be around the Community to lend a hand for help. Take care!
