Can I change the email address QB is using to communicate messages from the IRS to me

QB is using an email address that hasn't existed in over 15 years.  No wonder I have missed so many messages.  Why cant I change it Payroll Settings

You've come to the right place, diane.thomas. I'm happy to guide you through the steps about changing the email address that QuickBooks uses for IRS notifications. 

 

You have to change the email address through the Accounts and settings. Here's how

 

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Account and settings.
  2. Select Company.
  3. From the Company info, click Edit.
  4. Enter the new address in the Company email field.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

 

Once done, go to the Payroll settings and check the Email notifications section. You should see the new address.

Im having the same issue with IRS notifications. Can you tell me where to start with " Account Settings"?  PLEASE

Let's change the email address in the payroll setting. Here's the detailed step you can follow.

 

  1. Hover to the Gear icon and select Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll down, then click the pencil icon in the Contact information section.
  3. Edit the Email address and other details if needed.
  4. Hit Save, then Done.
