Good morning, @al5.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're having a great day so far.

So long as the contractor payments are mapped for 1099, reach the threshold, and have the Track Payments for 1099 option checked under the contractor profile, then you can create the 1099-NEC as normal.

Here's how you can ensure the Track Payments for 1099 option is checked under the contractor profile:

  1. Tap the Expenses menu, then choose Vendors
  2. Choose the name of the vendor.
  3. Click on Edit
  4. Scroll down under Additional info, mark check the Track Payments for 1099
  5. Hit Save

For more information about creating a 1099-NEC, check out the Create your 1099s section in this help guide: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
