Can I invite my clients to view my quickbooks online account in order to easily communicate with these clients? is that good or bad?

I am new to bookkeeping. I am trying to add all info from my 2 clients. I chose add client and then the program said I could invite those 2 clients via a direct e-mail from quickbooks. Is that ok to do? I will not have any of my info of course and I am limiting my client's access as per suggestions from Quickbooks. Thank you

You certainly can, @htngerlach-gmail.

 

In addition to Fiat Lux - ASIA, you can invite your client to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) and assign them roles to have limited access to your account. This allows us to keep your account secure.

 

Let me show you how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage users.
  2. Click Add user.
  3. Select a user type (Standard user or Reports only) then select Next.
  4. Click the access rights for the user. Then select Next.
  5. Select the user settings, if applicable. Then Click Next.
  6. Enter the user’s name and email address. Then select Save.

You can invite your client as Standard User with limitations or Report only.
