When I purchase material for a customers job on my business credit card which is linked to my QB online, can I have it automatically put on an invoice for a specific customer?

You're unable to automatically populate an online credit card expense to an invoice, @jkoblick. I'll suggest a way to invoice your billable expenses to your customer.

In QuickBooks Online, you can make your expenses billable to invoice them to your customer. However, you'll need to manually add those expenses to your sales form. If you haven’t already, you'll want to enable the Billable feature, so you can fully utilize it on your expense.

To begin with, here's how to make your online credit card expense billable, so it will show up when you create an invoice:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank Transactions.
  2. In the For Review tab, locate and click the transaction to expand the view.
  3. In the Who it was for drop-down menu, select the customer and tick the Billable checkbox.
  4. Fill in and review the remaining fields to categorize the transaction accurately.
  5. Select Confirm.

After that, you can proceed to these steps to link the billable expense to the customer's invoice:

  1. Select + New, then Invoice.
  2. In the Customer ▼ drop-down menu, choose the customer you created a billable expense for. This opens the Add to invoice window.
  3. Click Add on the billable expense you want to charge to your customer.
  4. Once done, hit Save and close.

You can then add the billable expenses to an invoice. Here is an article you can refer to for the detailed steps: Enter billable expenses in QuickBooks Online.
