I want to post bills as they are incurred and pay them from my tablet. I can't find the bills function though, only expenses. Is it possible?

Hello there, Saaammm.

I'm here to share more information about managing bills in the QuickBooks Online application.

Currently, the option to create bills on the application is unavailable. However, you can pay the existing one via the Bill pay feature. Before doing so, you'll have to set up a payment method. Here's how:

  1. From the Menu ☰ icon, select Bill pay.
  2. Tap the Gear icon.
  3. In the Payment methods tab, select Add this method.
  4. Once connected, tap the Payment account in the QuickBooks drop-down.

From there, you can start paying bills. I've added this link for the detailed steps of the process: Schedule a bill payment.

If you want to email the bill using QuickBooks Online on a browser, you can check this reference: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you have concerns about emailing bills.

Hi Adrian_A,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I do not have the Bill Pay button in my menu tab.

I click on Menu, then All, then scroll to "Money Out", and the only buttons I have are Suppliers and Expenses. I've looked under the other sections but Bill Pay is not there either.

To clarify, I don't want to make bill payments from QBO. But I do want to record the bill payments I've made.

@Saaammm

Consider to signup for a separate Melio account for free and integrate it with QBO. At this time there is not a stand alone mobile app for either iOS or Android devices, but it works great on the mobile device of your choice as a workaround.

@Fiat Lux - ASIA thanks for your suggestion, I think I should have been more clear in my question.

I'm more concerned with recording bills and bill payments, I don't actually want to process payments through QBO. Using my online bank app or old school cheque in the mail works well enough for me.
