QB Desktop and QB Online are two different products. You can set up a simple private cloud solution to work on QB Desktop files over the internet.

Hello there. I'll share some details about your concern with managing QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Yes, I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA. QuickBooks Desktop is different from QuickBooks Online version. QBDT is more traditional accounting software that you can download and install on your computer, while QBO is cloud-based accounting software you access through the internet. The two versions are independent, which means the data you enter on the Desktop don't sync to the Online version and vice-versa. Although, you can import your data files from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
