My quickbooks will not open. error 80029c4a

 I'd be glad to help fix error 80029c4a when opening QuickBooks, @broken software.

 

To do this, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, let's ensure to update QuickBooks Desktop to it's latest release. 

 

If you still get the error, even with an updated QuickBooks release, you can check your antivirus software. Some antivirus programs accidentally block QuickBooks from loading essential files. Check the area of your program that lists blocked files (sometimes called your “quarantine”).

 

If you see any of the programs listed below in your quarantine, give them permission to go through your firewall.

  • AutoBackupExe.exe, Dbmlsync.exe, DBManagerExe.exe
  • FileManagement.exe, FileMovementExe.exe, QuickBooksMessaging.exe
  • QBW32.exe, QBDBMgrN.exe, QBGDSPlugin.exe
  • QBServerUtilityMgr.exe, QBCFMonitorService.exe, QBLaunch.exe
  • QBUpdate.exe, IntuitSyncManager.exe, OnlineBackup.exe

If that doesn’t work, let's perform a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop. This will refresh the program files causing Error 80029c4a and won’t affect your data.

 

If you're using QuickBooks Online, you can uninstall and reinstall the program to fix error 80029c4a.

I've got you covered and I have just the steps to help you fix the dynamic link library error message. 

 

As what other users have pointed out, this error happens in QuickBooks Desktop. This is usually caused by a damaged component in the program. 

 

To start off, you'll want to run QuickBooks Tool Hub. This can help fix most issues in the program. Here's how:

 

  1. Download the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open and run the installer and follow the prompts to install it.
  3. After installing, run the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  4. Go to the Program Problems tab. 
  5. Follow the prompts to run the troubleshooting wizard.

Though if you're using the QuickBooks Online Windows app, you can uninstall and reinstall it. If you don't have the installer anymore, grab the updated version here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/apps/.

I have error code 80029C4a when I open my quick books. Yesterday I tried to update Quick books and after that it stopped responding I restarted my computer and I check the Norton security for devices

At this time, I'd recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team so an agent can take a look at your file and investigate this further. Here's how:

 

  1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question window, scroll down to click the Contact us link.
  3. This will display the Contact Us screen.
  4. Go to the Tell us more about your question section to enter the issue or topic in the field box.
  5. Click the Search button to display the Start a Message button.

I’ve not gotten any help. I can’t open my Quickbooks. I’m getting error:  80029c4a. Library/DLL. Please can you help?

Thanks for adding your concern to this conversation, @Glomar. I'm here to help you get past the error: 80029c4a. Library/DLL you're getting.

 

There are a variety of reasons for getting this kind of error. It usually arises when:

 

  • QuickBooks components don't start properly.
  • Missing or corrupted files.
  • Anti-virus or security has wrongly marked QuickBooks Executable file. 

 

To get rid of this error permanently, let's first update your anti-virus/security software to the latest release. Then, add component exceptions as per the "User manual" and re-open it. 

 

Next, restart & Register QuickBooks Services & DLL’s using Reboot.bat command. Here's how: 

 

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Open the folder which has the reboot.bat file:
    1. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon and choose properties.
    2. Click Open file location.
    3. Right-click the reboot.bat file and choose Run as Administrator
  3. While on the No Company Open screen, pick Update QuickBooks from the Help menu. 
  4. In the Options tab, choose Mark All and Save.
  5. Mark the Reset Update box in the Update Now tab, then click the Get Updates button.
  6. Once the Update Complete appears, close and re-open the program.
  7. If you get the message to install an update, select Yes. Then, restart your computer after the installation.

I am trying to update payment information for our QB Online subscription.  After I input the bank information, the email confirmation receive shows the correct ABA number, but an incorrect ending account number.

I have tried a couple of times to reenter the information, however the confirmation email continues to show an incorrect ending account number.

Hello there, thefairshare.

 

Let me help you fix the error you're getting while using QuickBooks Desktop QBDT). You can start by backing up your company file to protect against data loss.

 

Once done, do the clean install to refresh the program files causing the error. To begin, download the installer for your version of QuickBooks.

 

Have your license number ready. It should be on the original package or in the purchase confirmation email if you bought a digital version. You can get this info using the License Look Up tool.

 

After that, uninstall QuickBooks by following these steps:

 

Step 1: Remove QuickBooks

 

  1. Open the Windows Start menu. Search for “Control Panel”, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you want to uninstall.
  4. Select Uninstall/Change and then Remove. Select Next. 
  5. If you don’t see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights).

 

Step 2: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.

 

After performing those steps, you can restore the company file and continue doing your task.

Usually, this issue happens when there are changes to the current setup because of the update. Since it started happening after the upgrade, I suggest performing some basic troubleshooting.

 

Considering you're unable to log in, the browser's stored cache may be full. It can cause unusual behavior, like the problem when signing in to your account.

 

I'd first suggest logging into your account using a private browser or incognito mode. It's a great way to isolate browser-related issues.

 

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

 

If you can view your account without any trouble, please switch back to the regular browser and clear its cache. It helps to restore the default setup of the browser. 

 

In case private browsing doesn't work, use another supported web engine. This way, you'll get the best and most secure experience with the program.
