Can intuit file late 1099 forms? I just made my intuit account in 2024 and will add the contractor this year as well. But I need to file the 1099 for payments I made to them last year.

Hi there, shaiasia. Let me share helpful information about submitting a 1099 form.

Yes, you can still submit a 1099 form in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know the system will still allow you to submit until April 30th.

However, any form that's filed beyond May 1st will have to be manually.

Also, before submitting the form, ensure you've set up your contractor together with the payment dates so that it will show last year's 1099.

I've got the steps you need on how to submit a 1099 form.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Vendors. Then select the Prepare 1099s button.
  2. After clicking the button, process with Continue your 1099s.
  3. Click the Add from the Vendor list button.
  4. Uncheck the vendors and contractors that you don't need. Then, select only the contractor with the late form.
  5. Click Save, then continue preparing the late 1099.
