I was under the impression that I could view my QB Desktop information after I converted to QB Online. But when I try to log into my QB Desktop I receive an error message stating my Desktop subscription has expired.  I can’t access any history including Payroll.

You can access your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company if you still have an active subscription or use the view-only mode, Jules67. Let me discuss it further below.

If you still have an active subscription, you'll want to update your payment details from the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPS). I'll guide you on how:

  1. Sign in to the CAMPS as an admin user.
  2. Choose QBDT from your products and services.
  3. Select details next to your QuickBooks product.
  4. Click Edit next to your Payment Method. Then, update your payment info.
  5. Once done, hit Save and Close. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  6. Go to the Help menu and select Manage My License. Then, pick Sync License Data Online.

If you encounter the same issue, install the latest update for your version of QBDT. This often fixes subscription errors since it ensures you have the latest features and fixes.

However, if you have the latest version and the subscription issue persists, please follow Solution 3-5 of this article: Fix subscription has lapsed error in QuickBooks Desktop.

Otherwise, if your subscription ends, you can still have view-only access for 1 year. With this, you cannot edit your data with your inactive license. But you can renew your subscription or export your data. Refer to this article for more information: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop.

Additionally, you can check out these resources to learn more about the different reports in QBDT and how you can customize them:

I'm always around and ready if you need further assistance or have additional questions about accessing your QBDT company. Just let me know by replying below. Take care.
