Can you install QB Desktop locally and on the server?

Our company uses QB Desktop Enterprise on a server. I need to work with the QB SDK and Web Connector, but I am not an admin on the server version. I have tried and it won't let me. I tried to have the admin use her credentials, but no luck.

Can I install a copy of QB on my computer and not have it interfere with the server version?

You can install the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) locally. However, you need to access the server in order to use the QB SDK and Web Connector. I suggest contacting your company admin so he/she can add or permits you to access the server version.

I also suggest visiting our separate online forum called Intuit Developer Community. The developer site can provide specific information about managing third-party application connected to QBDT

Here's the link: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/homepage.

I might just setup a virtual server and install QB that way. I'll definitely check out the other forum. Thanks!
