Cannot Open QBPro 2019 Desktop

Hello,

I had not used my QBPro 2019 Desktop in a few months and when I tried to open it today, I was unable to do open this program.

I tried all of the suggestions online including those suggested by Quicken outlined at this webpage - https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/reinstall-products/quickbooks-desktop-start-open/L9iOqtxqo_US_en_US?uid=l7sau60m.

The only way I was able to access the software was to uninstall it and reinstall it.  At the conclusion of the installation process, I was asked to create a company, which I did, and I then opened a backup version of my company files, which were intact.  When I close the program and tried double clicking on the desktop icon, I got a momentary circle spinning and then nothing.

I have opted not to install Windows 11 and here is my Windows information:

Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 21H2
Installed on ‎8/‎20/‎2021
OS build [removed]
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

Hello, Gary.

There might be something that prevents you from opening the program successfully. This can range from a damaged component or a corrupted installation. So, I'd like to point us to the right direction to help us fix this.

I appreciate your time in doing all you can to fix the launch issue using the article. So at this point, we'll want to contact our support. They'll use their tools and take a closer look at the issue and ensure you'll be able to open your QuickBooks Desktop copy.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to this link: Out-of-Product Support Link
  2. Hit Continue.
  3. Select your edition, then on the last text box, enter something like "QuickBooks Desktop won't open."
  4. Proceed with Continue.
  5. Choose how you want to reach us.

I should also point out that QuickBooks Desktop 2019 (and other 2019 editions) is discontinued. You may not be able to get critical updates and patches that may fix the issue.

After fixing the issue with our support, do you need help reviewing your financial data and health through reports? I'll include this article in case you need assistance in the future: Understand reports

You're more than welcome to post here again if you have questions regarding your entries or data in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm here to help.

Consider installing the trial version for QBD 2019 Enterprise on your machine. I don't recommend running QBD on Win 11 just yet.

Hello jamespaul,

Thank you for your suggestion.  I will give it a try and report the results.

Given that 2019 is no longer supported, I suspect I may be out of luck.

Thanks again.
