Converting from Desktop to Online issue

I recently converted from Desktop to Online and I have some billable expenses that obviously aren't accurate since I've never used that feature.  Most of them are on various Unemployment taxes on employee paychecks.  I can't get rid of them and the online help is not accurate.  Any ideas?

Which QB Desktop year version did you use?

I'll share insights about the billable expense that shows when you convert from QBDT to QBO, ronniebo.

Once you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, you may observe differences in the appearance of your books. If you're using reimbursable expenses and unbilled time in QuickBooks Desktop, they will move as billable expenses in QuickBooks Online.

The billable expenses in QuickBooks Online are the same as reimbursable expenses in QuickBooks Desktop. To help you understand how your books are converted, see this article: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, since the billable expenses show up in the unemployment taxes on your employees' paychecks, I suggest contacting our customer support team. They can help you correct the transactions and properly record them in QBO.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

For more details, see this article: QuickBooks Online Support.

Additionally, I'll be sharing these resources that will help you in navigating your QuickBooks Online account and how billable expense works:
