I have a client wanting to convert from Sage 50 to QBOnline.  The conversion tool that QB has says that you can only use it if the company is accrual basis for accounting.  Is this true and if so, what options do they have if they use cash basis accounting?

Hello there, @kiki23. I'll share some insights about converting from Sage 50 to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you're right. The conversion tool in QuickBooks Online can only be utilize if your company is in accrual basis for accounting. As a workaround, you can reach out to Sage 50's Customer Care Team. This way, they can help you set up your data to get them easily into QBO.

For more information, please see this article: Convert from Sage 50 to QuickBooks Online.

You can also check for any third-party app available that can help you manage your data to have them in your QuickBooks Online company. I can input the steps below so you can proceed to get one. Here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, go to the Apps tab and then click Find Apps.
  3. In the Search bar, type Converter as your keyword.
  4. Choose the app that best suits your business needs.
  5. Once you're ready, click on the app and then press the Get app now button.

In addition, here's an article about reconciling an account in QBO: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can visit this page to help you close out the previous year and prepare for the new one: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know in the comment section for further details or concerns. I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Take care!
