Copy import mappings to another Company file

I'm developing mappings to import from excel or csv files. I'm doing this in a test company due to a lot of experimentation and tweaks. 

 

I've been looking for a way to take that mapping and "import it" into the real company file once it's finalized. And possible apply updates once in a while.

 

So far I've only seen a way to do that with a 3rd party app that has many other features i have no need for.

 

Is there a known way to achieve this without having to set up the mapping all over again?

I understand you are looking for a way to import mappings from a test company file into a real one in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). The option to directly transfer import mappings between company files is currently unavailable. I'll share some insight about this matter.

 

To utilize the mappings in your company file, you'll need to set them up again manually. This involves recreating the fields, data types, and other necessary configurations in the import mapping process. While this may require additional effort, it ensures that the mappings are accurately replicated in the real company file.

Follow these:

 

  1. Press the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under profile.
  2. It will open a window where you can enter your product suggestions.
  3. From there, input how you want the program to work.
  4. Click Next to submit it.
