Create test copy - copy the qbw file and rename, or backup and restore as different name?

Using QBD Enterprise - I want to create a test copy of our company file.  I have read different articles where some suggest to simply copy and rename the company qbw file in windows file explorer, and some say to create a backup, then restore from that backup and rename.

 

Which is the right way, or are both of these methods ok to use?

Create a new folder on your machine

Open your primary company file and create a backup file (*.qbb).

Move the backup file to the new folder and restore it with a new name (e.g newname.qbw).

 

If you are working in a network environment, renaming the qbw file might break it.
