Credit card transactions

Hi.

I am cleaning up the year-end 2023.  I changed the account category on some credit card transactions and now they show up as credits in the new account.  For example:  the original cc transaction was posted to Auto Repairs.  I changed it to Auto Accident Repairs.  Now, the credit card reconciliation is off.  I went through the audit history and saw the new account amount as a credit.  So, I went and voided that transaction, but it voided the original as well.  So, I am completely stumped on this one!!  I can't continue with voiding since it's making it worse.  I don't understand how changing the account category would cause this much trouble.  Please help.
