Can not open Quickbooks, Error 3371

May 17, 2021

Hello, Rvbob. I can help you get rid of the error message.

QuickBooks error 3371 is caused when QB is unable to load license data. Below are some of the specific cases when users might encounter QuickBooks 3371 series errors.

  • Certain QuickBooks files like qbregistration.dat cannot be accessed or are damaged.
  • The Microsoft MSXML file is unable to execute.
  • The license information cannot be retrieved or validated.

To fix the error, please follow the solutions I've outlined below:

Solution 1: Delete ecml file

  1. Press Windows + R together from your keyboard.
  2. Enter this path C:\ProgramData\intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 in the window.
  3. Next, Windows Explorer will open with the above address.
  4. Now, delete ecml file. After that, close the window.
  5. Finally, you have to Run QuickBooks and Register the item again.’

For more information, please check our detailed guide: How to Fix QuickBooks Error 3371.

Feel free to get back to me if you have additional questions. I'm here to help.
