When reviewing my "All Customers" list, it no longer shows the "in active" ones.  Please help to restore

So my station states:

Company Name Enterprise(conflicted copy 2022-02-25 from server)-2

and the other station states:

Company Name Enterprise(conflicted copy 2022-02-25 from server)-2.QBW

Is this the same?

@Maria329MD  Probably not, but it's not exactly something I can be sure of without being there or remote desktop'ing in.

One way to know for sure would be to note down the file path from the station that does work, and follow said file path on the station that does not work to try and open the company file with the .QBW addition.

If you have an IT guy on staff, they would be able to tell for certain quite easily. Just show them this thread, they'll know what to check.

Hey Maria329MD,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I will be happy to help. Just want to confirm your steps for reviewing the customer and job list.

  1. Go to Customers, then Customer Center.
  2. Proceed to the Customers & Jobs tab, then select All Customers.
  3. You'll see an "X" for inactive customers.
     .

If you are not seeing any form of the X, let’s perform some basic troubleshooting. Verify and rebuild is a process that scans your company files for errors or data damage and then fixes them.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the File then Utilities. Select Verify Data.
  2. Wait for it to load.
  3. Click File again, Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  4. Press OK when you get the message "Rebuild has completed".

Please keep me updated and let me know if everything works out! I am looking forward to your comment. See you soon.

I followed your instructions on rebuilding etc.  Nothing has changed on my Customer & Job list.  When if go from Active customers to All customers, it is still not showing my "inactive" customers.  We have two stations at our location and the other location has this information.  I have a feeling that something was clicked on by mistake and they have been hidden someplace.

Any other ideas on how I can restore these items?

@Maria329MD  "We have two stations at our location and the other location has this information."

Do you mean that you have two workstations that access this same QB file, and the other workstation is able to see the inactive customers?

If so, my best guess is that you may be tapping into an outdated version of the QB file that does not have the customers in question, inactive or otherwise.

Otherwise, both stations should be able to see the same thing; a file is a file, no matter who is looking at it, and the only way to 'hide' a customer beyond marking it inactive is to delete the customer entirely, especially since you said that the rebuilding didn't do anything.
