I want to upgrade from Quickbook's Desktop Pro 2021 to Desktop Pro 2024.

Do I need to upgrade to 2022, 2023 and then 2024?

Hello there, @JC5970

You can upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2021 to 2024 instantly without installing other versions. To start, make sure that you already purchased your QBDT Pro 2024. It would also be better to have your license number handy as this is necessary for this procedure.

Next, refer to these steps in upgrading your version:

1. Start with downloading the QuickBooks Desktop Manager.
2. Next, click Download.
3. Select the QuickBooks License Agreement and click Let's get started.
4. From there, enter the license number to look for your QBDT 2024 and select Search.
5. Then, pick the email address you use to receive OTP. Once received, enter it in the dedicated field.
6. After that look for your QBDT 2024 and select Install.
7. When done, select Open QuickBooks and activate it.

For more information, read this article: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.

Once everything is fine, your next step is to update your company file so you can now use it using your QBDT Pro 2024 version.

I'll be right here in the Community if you have any other queries about upgrading your QuickBooks versions. I'd be glad to provide answers to help. Have a good day ahead.

Thank you for the information.  Do you know if Desktop Pro 2024 will be subscription based after I pay for it?

March 7, 2024

@JC5970

QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus. Plus = subscription

Why do you need to upgrade to 2024? Do you still need to run any add-ons after May 2024? e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment

@JC5970

You can upgrade your company files directly from 2021 to 2024. You can also purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro plus thru a partner and get $100 cashback.

I specifically need Desktop Pro 2024, not Plus.  Is the Desktop Pro 2024 available through a partner?

Is there a difference between the two?

Thank you.

Can I continue to use my Quickbooks Pro 2021?  If it is not supported, can I purchase Quickbooks Pro 2024, not Pro Plus, just Pro?

Where can I purchase the Desktop Pro 2024?

March 7, 2024

Let me clarify everything for you both, @JC5970 and @Tammy114

Yes, your understanding is correct JC5970, that you can upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2021 to 2024 instantly without installing other versions. To start, make sure that you already purchased your QBDT Pro 2024. It would also be better to have your license number handy as this is necessary for this procedure.

To upgrade, please follow these steps:

1. Start by downloading the QuickBooks Desktop Manager.

Moreover, the link provided for QuickBooks Desktop Plus 2024 is for a subscription-based service. If you are looking to own the software without subscription fees, it's important to note that after July 31, 2024, new subscriptions for QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus will no longer be sold.

However, existing subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions. To upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 without a subscription, you can explore alternative options or consider purchasing the software outright without the Plus subscription.

For more information, read this article: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.

Everything is subscription based now. You can get it here:

@bahamabreeze

Have you purchased a license with the link you provided? Was it reliable? I have purchased with my credit card and I have not received the license until now. Tried contacting Support but it seems like it's already in weekend mode. I was planning to install the license this weekend. [sad]

Yes, I did. I also purchase QB Desktop Pro 2021 from them years ago. They are a reputable company that has been around since 2009. I get great customer service from them when trying to determine which QB program I need for my bookkeeping/accounting business. Just google Fourlane Quickbooks and you can find more info about them.
