The initial 1099's had our name abbreviated and was rejected by the IRS.  We corrected the name and resubmitted; IRS accepted; do we have to send out corrected 1099 with abbreviated name?

Hi there, 9130356875467216

There's no need to send out a new form with the abbreviated name, and I'll share why.

Since the IRS has accepted the resubmission with the corrected name, you may want to keep it on hand and continue using it for future reference if needed. Ensure that the name and TIN on the corrected 1099 match the information on the recipient's tax return to avoid any discrepancies.
