1099's have been submitted to the IRS with QBO. I need to submit a "txt" file to Massachusetts, but the method I tried came up with many errors.

Let me share some information about filing your 1099 forms with your state agency, capecodbob.

In this case, it would be best to consult your state to provide you with the correct format when submitting the 1099. If your state uses the same format that QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses when it's downloaded, you can follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Go to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Taxes, then 1099 filings.
  3. Select View 1099 to view a PDF copy.
  4. Click Download.

On the other hand, if your state is using a different format, you'll want to contact the IRS or your state so they can provide you with the correct form to use. To learn more about your state's requirements for filing 1099s, check out this article: File your state 1099 forms.

Furthermore, learn how you can take care of your tax payments and files either automatically or electronically.
