I'd gladly address your Form 1099 concerns, Christine.

After you submit your 1099s to the IRS, we'll email you regarding your filing status. You can also check your filing status anytime in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes, then select 1099 filings.
  2. To review your e-filing status, go to Filing Status. The different statuses are:
    • Not Submitted: Still needs to be filed.
    • Submitted: Successfully filed.
    • Received by IRS: Received and processed. Confirmation email arrives one week after acceptance.
  3. Click View 1099 to see a PDF copy.

Additionally, when you file 1099s with us, we may email or mail a printed copy to your contractors. The forms will be sent to the contractors' addresses indicated in their profiles by January 31.

Moreover, QBO and QB Contractor Payments don't provide Form 1096. If you're filing electronically, the form isn't required by the IRS. For more info, you can visit Form 1096 and About Form 1096, Annual Summary and Transmittal of U.S. Information Returns

To get the same info, you can view a summary of your e-filed 1099s from the 1099s filings tab. Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes, then select 1099 filings.
  2. Click View summary.
