Does Quikbooks desktop require annual registration renewal?

Thanks for stopping by the QuickBooks Community with your question about Desktop annual renewal. QuickBooks Desktop will renew automatically for Desktop Basic, Standard and Enhanced accounts. You will receive a subscription alert in your payment center. Upon renewal, the credit card or bank account on file is debited and an invoice notification is emailed to the billing contact. If the automatic renewal isn't successful, or the credit card or bank account on file is outdated, you may get subscription alerts in QuickBooks. If this happens, you'll receive an alert. To view those alerts click the following link and it will guide you in the correct direction to go.

I have received an annual renewal notice for $349.99 QB Plus Annual Subscription AND QB annual subsciption One employee $474.00 (we have 2 people on biweekly payroll)

Which will be charged to our credit card???

We want to renew just need to know which fee will be charged??????

QuickBooks Plus Annual Subscription and QuickBooks Payroll Annual Subscription for One Employee are two different subscriptions. 

 

The QuickBooks Plus Annual Subscription takes care of the entire software, automatic backup, and data recovery. The QuickBooks Payroll Annual Subscription for One Employee on the other hand gives you access to the payroll function in QuickBooks. it's an add-on subscription that includes tax table updates, automatic tax calculations, tax forms, and Direct Deposit. 

 

You might have both subscriptions in your account, which is why you receive a notice for both licenses. 

 

You can log in to the Customer Account Management Portal Site to see all your subscription details. You can also see how much is the renewal fee for each license. Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to Your QuickBooks Account (CAMPS) online
  2. Sign in with your Intuit Account info. This could be different from what you use to sign in to your company file.
  3. If you see multiple products to choose from, select QuickBooks Desktop to go to CAMPs.

In QuickBooks Desktop versions, they offer:

  1. One-time payment
  2. Annual subscription

Only with an annual subscription plan, you will need to renew the subscription and pay the fee.

With a one-time payment, your purchase this software program. It's yours, good for at least three-year.

You may purchase QB Pro or Premier edition with a one time license. e.g QB 2020 Pro 1 user with a one time license, you may purchase it for $300 directly, or $200 thru a partner/reseller.

I just bought a disc for Quick books Desktop Pro 2021 last year (1 PC) and I've been keep getting pop-up screen stating that I need to renew my subscription otherwise I will not be able to access to my account in 6 days. I spent a lot of money last year to purchase the QuickBooks for my small company, which I thought was one time license. Now they are asking me to pay almost $600 to renew my subscription. Does it make any sense?

Login to your CAMPS to confirm. If you bought QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus, you will need pay the renewal. You don't need to renew if you bought QB Desktop 2021 Pro.

I have QuickBooks 2022 and it is requiring me to pay a renewal fee and because I haven’t paid the fee it has locked me out. I do not use any of the services that QuickBooks offer. How can I avoid paying a renewal fee so I can continue to use the program? My business is a barber shop and I only use a few functions.

With QBDT, the service subscriptions are essentially designed to address users in tracking financial functions. If prompted to renew your desktop plan, this would likely require you to renew its subscription. 

 

However, please note that if you wish not to renew, you're unable to either modify your entries or automate your accounting tasks in your account. Also, you'll want to consider securing a backup copy of your company file to ensure you're able to save your accounting data and restore them anytime you want.

I paid for my renewal for 2023 last year and I was charged again this year.  I thought that it was a subscription for 3 years.

Currently, QuickBooks Desktop software is available as an annual subscription that automatically renews with your credit card on file, ensuring uninterrupted service. If you purchased Desktop software via retail, make sure to place your credit card on file for uninterrupted service.

 

In case you don't renew the subscription, you won't be able to use the software at all. Your company file will remain on your computer, but you'll need to re-activate the service to open or view the data.

 

On the other hand, you can also go to the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMP) to review where this charge is coming from. For more information on how to use CAMPS and see charges billed to your account, refer to this article: Change, manage, or update your Intuit account with CAMPs.
