Edit Mileage in QB Desktop Pro 2024

I can't seem to edit or delete or reassign mileage through the Mileage Tracker on QB Desktop Pro 2024. It worked just fine in 2020, but the interface has changed and there is no way to edit what I've entered, delete it and start over or simply change the entry to be billable.

Very frustrating!

I understand the need to modify the mileage to keep your record accurate, Gardient. I'm here to discuss some information about this matter.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), there's no option to modify the trip once approved.

Please know that manually entered mileage in QBDT is approved automatically. Hence, ensure to review and verify all trip details before approving them.

In your case, you can switch back to the Basic Mode for Tracking Mileage and manually put in the transactions as a workaround. To switch back to the basic version, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Edit and select Preferences, then select Time & Expenses
  2. Select Company Preferences and then select the Basic version

However, bear in mind that once you switch back to the basic version, you won’t be able to copy any data from the advanced version to the basic version. Thus, I suggest securing a copy of the data before reverting to the basic version for backup purposes.

Furthermore, you can refer to this article if you want to customize your reports in QBDT: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop
