Editing purchase orders already emailed

Is there a way that I can stop my users from editing our purchase order(s) that has already been emailed to our vendor?  Even if there were an alert or notification I can set up.  I realize at the top of the purchase order it shows the date and time it was sent but this does not help.  Thank you in advance.

Limiting users from editing emailed purchase orders avoids unnecessary changes, Shariekp.

The option to stop them from modifying your expense transactions is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You'll want to consider changing their role to Standard no access. They have partial permissions but can't use accounting features. For more details, please see this article: User Roles and Access Rights in QuickBooks Online.

I can see how this functionality would be beneficial to your business. I encourage sending a feature request directly to our Product Development team. Doing so helps continuous QuickBooks improvement and bug resolution and maintains customer satisfaction. It also allows users to contribute to the development process and shape the future of the product.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

In addition, QuickBooks Online keeps track of your activities using the Audit log feature. From there, you can see who made changes to your books and what they did.

We want to ensure your books are secured. Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance managing access and permission in your account. We're always here to help you out.
