I get this error message: We couldn't Add the transaction(s) due to "Something you're trying to use has been made inactive. Check the fields with accounts, customers, items, vendors or employees.". Check account mapping in advanced settings and try again. when I try to add transactions from Square in the App Transactions.  So far, the help desk has not helped.

The error message indicates that the lists you're trying to use are inactive. Please review the items mentioned above and ensure that they're active.

I spent two hours with an assistant yesterday.  He had access to my screen.  After some attempts to find the cause, he said QuickBook engineers were investigating the problem, that I was not the only one having the problem, and that I would get email updates.  So, no, the problem is not solved. I would like to take to one of the investigating engineers.

I am having the same issue. I have checked all the vendors, customers, items, etc, nothing is inactive. I even created new items/accounts to see if that would work and I am still getting the same error. Please update what is happening with this and the development team as it has NOT been fixed.

I know that being able to sync your eCommerce app to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is significant for you, Nancy.

Let me guide you on how you can post your Square app transactions accurately.

Firstly, you can disconnect and reconnect your Square app from QBO.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Bookkeeping tab.
  2. Select Transactions, then choose App transactions.
  3. Click App settings, then Square.
  4. Choose the tab for the setting you want to change.
  5. To disconnect the app, click Disconnect Square.
  6. Once finished, select Done.

Then exclude the duplicate transactions after performing the steps above.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks support team so they can further sort this out by enclosing screen-sharing sessions with you and pinpointing the error you've been experiencing.

Additionally, here's an article you can browse just in case you need assistance connecting your bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Keep your posts coming in this thread for any additional queries you may have when handling your bank transactions in QBO. Just let me know below so I can back you up.
