Estimates and Invoices

We will create an estimate that shows the discount we will offer.  With progressive invoicing, half of the estimate is created prior to job being completed.  Once job is complete the second invoice is created off the estimate.  We have noticed that the discount does not move to the invoice from the estimate.  Is there a way to have this completed automatically instead of entering the discount manually when we create the invoice?

Hi there, @sajaneme. Allow me to explain how discounts are applied when converting estimates to invoices. 

 

When you convert your estimate using the old layout, the discount will automatically applied to the invoice. However, if you're using the new layout you'll need to input the discount manually.

 

If you're using the old layout and the discount did not apply after converting the estimate to an invoice, let's open your account in a private window to rule out browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

 

If this works, return to your regular browser and clear your cache. Occasionally, the accumulated cache and cookies in the system can become outdated or corrupted, leading to unexpected behaviors. You can also switch to other installed supported browsers, which is a good alternative.

 

On the other hand, if you're using the new layout and wish to have the discount from the estimate automatically applied to the invoice, you may send your feedback to our product development team. They'll carefully review your idea and may consider it for a future update.
