Experience utilizing Windows Storage Migration Service with QuickBooks involved
Scenario: Upgrading current Windows Server 2012 Standard, which houses QuickBooks Server Manager 2023 and QuickBooks Data files via a network shared folder that QB Users access via the program, over to a new Windows Server 2019 Standard Box.
Outside of what looks to be the standard migration of moving QuickBooks over to the new server utilizing instructions from this link - https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/install/migrating-to-2019-server/00/1197967
Has anyone successfully migrated QuickBooks to their new Windows Server utilizing just the newer Windows Storage Migration Service via Windows Admin Center that has been around for a few years now? I was wondering if this handled everything (which it does handle the migration of shared folders and their permissions and then cuts over to the new server; carrying over the old server name and IP so that shared paths on Client Machines do not have to change). But, this is the first time I'm performing this with QuickBooks involved and just want to cross all my t's before starting the migration and see if anyone has experience with this particular scenario. I've reached out to QuickBooks Support (our company has a paid subscription with them), but they are just telling me they no longer support any type of migration of their QuickBooks products (which pretty much baffles me).
Thanks in advance,
Jason
