Expiration dates in Quickbooks

Hello!

I am wondering if there is a way for Quickbooks to notify me of upcoming expiration dates.

We have products that are subject to expiration, and instead of me pulling the Inventory Expiration status report, it would be nice if there were some feature that could notify me.

Thanks!

Lindsay

I'm thrilled to assist you today, LindsayB1.

I understand the importance of tracking products with expiration timelines. Let me share some important information about this.

In QuickBooks Desktop, the feature to send notifications for the expiration date is currently unavailable. However, you can identify these dates when creating a sales or purchase transaction by turning on the show expiration dates feature.

Let me show you how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Company file.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences
  3. In the Preferences, choose Items & Inventory
  4. Open the Company Preferences and click Advanced Inventory Settings
  5. Click the Lot/Serial Numbers & Expiration Dates tab.
  6.  Mark check the Activate Expiration Date preferences.
  7. Choose how you wish to Show expiration dates for each option.

After that, check out these articles to track and customizing inventory in QuickBooks Enterprise.
