Fix company file name

How do I fix the company file name?  Somehow it got changed to all lower case and I would like to fix it so that it is upper and lower case.  When I use the F2 I see the file location and I have corrected it there but when I go to do a backup, the company name still appears as all lower case.  What am I missing to fix this?  Any help would be awesome.  Thank you.

@terib  "When I use the F2 I see the file location and I have corrected it there---"

When you say you corrected it there, which exact name did you correct? While the company file is at the file location, there are some associated files there as well.

I corrected the company name in all of the files I could find.  I went to File Explorer > Users > Public > Public Documents > Intuit > QuickBooks > Company Files

From there I corrected the file types: Quickbooks Company File, ndFile and  tlgFile

Is there something in the other folders that needs to be corrected?

I'm glad to see you here, @terib. Creating a backup file will show the original file name, not the company name you changed. Allow me to share more details on how you can correct this.

Before anything else, I'd like to know how you correct the company name. The F2 tab will only show the original file name having the lowercase version in the Location section. If you want to see your backup company file based on your preferred name, you can edit it before saving it. Here's how:

  1. Go to File.
  2. Select Back Up Company and Create Local Backup.
  3. Pick Local Backup.
  4. Click Save it Now, then Next.
  5. Enter the correct name of your file in the File name section below.
