Question

For some reason on my iPad the “Taxes” button isn’t showing. Actually, the whole sidebar with options seems to have vanished. How can I get it back?

Hi there, warland. Let's work together to restore the Taxes button and the whole sidebar in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app.

Apps may misbehave or slow down your phone when they store excessive cached data. It could be the cause of why the whole menus in your sidebar have vanished. Clearing the QBO app's cache helps fix issues that arise from outdated or corrupt cache files.

Before proceeding, it's important to note that the iPad has an operating system of iOS 9.3 or later to prevent unnecessary system glitches.

Here's how to clear the cache:

  1. Tap Settings on your device, then locate General.
  2. Select iPhone Storage and click the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Press Offload App.

If the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the QuickBooks app. It'll help us determine if this is a specific app issue.

Temporarily, you may consider accessing your QBO account using a web browser. There, you can continue working on your taxes and other QuickBooks tasks.

Additionally, I've added this article to help you learn what QuickBooks functionalities are available on different supported devices. It'll help you utilize the program more on your iPad: Compare mobile app features.
