Greed!!

And the fact that they want everyone to move to the constantly broken and sh**ty QBO.

But mostly greed.

I understand that every penny counts when running a business. Allow me to provide some information regarding the recent price increase of QuickBooks products.

QuickBooks has recently adjusted its pricing to facilitate investment in and enhancement of its features. The updated pricing reflects the value our products deliver and aligns with comparable offerings in the marketplace. This price increase will ensure we’re able to continue delivering unrivaled benefits that help your business grow.

We routinely review our pricing structure across the QuickBooks platform and ensure to notify customers via email well in advance of any changes. You may want to visit this link for the latest updates concerning prices and features: QuickBooks pricing + FAQs.

Additionally, for more details about Intuit charges on your credit card or bank account, please visit this article: Understand Intuit charges on your credit card or bank statement.

If you decide to transition to the online platform, I've got some resources that will guide you through the process of converting your QBDT file to QuickBooks Online (QBO):

@momatt

If you don't need to run any add-ons, you can switch to QB Desktop with a non subscription license. Otherwise, renew your license through a reseller and you can get $200 cashback. If you are using QB Desktop Enterprise, you can get more discounts.
