Hey, I was trying to update my phone number due to me getting a new phone because I can’t receive any codes

I can help you update your phone number to make sure you can log into your account and share some information about why you haven't received any codes, @wesleypatterson3. 

 

Aside from getting the code texted to your number, you have the option to resend the code through your email. You'll want to choose the Get a code emailed to (email address) instead. That way, you can log in to your account. It can take a couple of minutes for your code to arrive. If you still haven't received any, here are a few things you can do:

 

  • Check your junk mail or spam folder to see if the email went there.
  • Check all email addresses you might've used to sign up for your account.
  • Unblock or add Do_not_reply@intuit.com as an approved sender in your email app.
  • Select the I didn't get a text, I didn't get an email, or I didn't get a phone call link on the sign-in page to request a new code.
  • Ensure that you haven't accidentally blocked the phone number from which we sent the text message. Check your iOS or Android device settings to allow or unblock our number.
  • Keep the window with the code entry form open. Closing the window will invalidate the code, requiring you to start over from the sign-in page to generate a new code.

To update your phone number for the general Intuit account, follow these steps:
 

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and click the Profile icon in the upper-right corner. Then, select Manage your Intuit Account.


     
  2. Proceed to the Sign In & Security tab.
  3. Under the Phone section, tap the Verify link. Then, hit Change.


     
  4. Enter your new phone number, and then click Save.

I can show you how to update your phone number, Gary. 

Here’s how: 

 

  1. From the app dashboard, Select your profile icon next to Settings. 
  2. Then, select Manage your Intuit Account. 
  3. In the Intuit Account Manager, choose Sign in & security. 
  4. Select the User ID, Email address, Password, or Phone section. 
  5. Make your changes. 
  6. Once done, click Save.

I also try to change my phone number and when I click to change the number it says not found in on that account so it keeps it keeps wanting to send it to my old number. It doesn’t give me an option for an email or anything so I keep getting locked out of my account, this really needs to be more user-friendly, but I still need to know how to do it because I need to update my information to the new phone number

I'd be glad to share some insights to update your information so you can get back to your business in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

It appears that the system is attempting to send verification to your old phone number when trying to change the phone number, to which you no longer have access. For security purposes, only you can make changes to your Intuit Account. Then, to update and change your account credentials, we can use the Account Recovery form. We'll process your request within one business day. Our business hours are M-F, 8 AM to 5 PM PT.

 

Before doing so, please note the following:

 

  1. Take a high-quality photo or scan of your driver's license, state ID, passport, or notarized document.
  2. Fill out the Account Recovery form with your info, and upload your ID or document.
  3. Within one business day, look for an email from no_response@intuit.com with the next steps. If we approve your request, you'll receive a link to reset your password.
