Hi,How do i add a subcontractor?

I have a subcontractor providing me their services and invoicing me. How do i add them on QuickBooks?

Welcome aboard, enver. Let me share some pointers about adding a sub contractor in QuickBooks Online.

 

Currently, the feature to directly add sub-contractors in QuickBooks Online is unavailable. However, you can include them as regular contractors in QuickBooks and distinguish them by appending "(sub-contractor)" to their display name. This method allows you to manage subcontractors effectively within the system.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Expenses and select Contractors.
  2. Click Add a contractor
  3. Enter your contractor’s info, Example: Jonny Doe - Subcontractor enter the Email this contractor checkbox so they can fill it out.
  4. When you're done, click Add Contractor.

 

Furthermore, to effectively manage contractor's W-9 forms, you can follow the steps provided in the sources: Instructions for the Requester of Form W-9.

Thanks for responding. However, under expenses tab, i only have expenses, suppliers, milage options. No contractor option appears under expenses. I live in Australia and the Australian desktop version seems to be different to what you have presented.

 

Is there an other way to add? Or is it done different in Australia?

Thanks for your response. It seems the Australina version is different to what you have shown. Under Expenses tab i do not have contractor option. All i have is, Expenses, Suppliers and Milage. 

 

Is there any other way to add subcontractors?

Thanks for getting back to us. Are you using QuickBooks Online or the QuickBooks Desktop version in Australia? 

 

At the moment, you reached the support desk for QuickBooks Online version. QuickBooks Online Australia doesn't have the contractors' features offered at the moment. We only have the options to add suppliers.
