Question

How can I change from Apple Billing to normal billing direct to my credit card?

I signed up for QBO on mobile. I assumed I'd be able to change from Apple billing to regular billing but can't find an option to do so. An agent on QBO chat told me to delete my Apple payment info and QBO would automatically prompt for credit card details. Instead, QBO is forcing me to renew via Apple pay. My Apple account is a personal account, and I do not use it for subscriptions and I don't buy apps. I don't want to use my Apple account to pay for QBO. I want to use my business credit card. How do I change my billing prferences?

Welcome to the Community, Andrew.

I'll help you update your billing information in QuickBooks Online from Apple billing to your credit card.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings, and select your name.
  2. Choose Payment & Shipping. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Select Add Payment Information.
  4. Enter your new payment info to reflect your current financial institution.
  5. Click Done.

Then remove the old payment info

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Select the red delete icon⛔ next to your previous payment method.
  3. Then choose Remove.

Here is an article you can refer to for the detailed steps in managing your billing information in QuickBooks Online: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

Yes, I have already added a new payment method.

So, I now want to change my billing per the ink you provided: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

Update or change your payment method

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Select Settings ⚙, then Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Next to your payment method, select Edit ✎.
  4. This will launch the Wallet list. From this view you can:
    • Edit the payment method used for QuickBooks Online billing (expiration date, billing address, account holder name)
    • Add a new payment to be used for QuickBooks Online billing
    • Switch QuickBooks Online billing to previously stored payment method
  5. After saving your change, the payment method will be displayed on the Subscriptions and billing page.

This fails at step 3, because I do not have an "edit" option. I just have the following notice, which will send me in a loop like the first time I contacted support:

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread and clarifying your issue about updating your Apple billing to a business credit card, andrew-outsiders. Let me provide further details on how subscription works in QuickBooks and help you smoothly change your billing to your business credit card account.

Please keep in mind that the steps you provided are for QuickBooks Online instructions. This will only work if you bought the subscription directly from Intuit and used your credit card information. This is why you don't see the Edit button on your end.

Managing a QuickBooks plan varies depending on where you purchased your subscription. Since you mentioned Apple, it appears your subscription is through them. With this, you have to make sure that you remove the old payment details after adding a new one. This is done to ensure that the billing will automatically be charged to your business credit card. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague above.

In case the billing still appears on Apple, I suggest contacting the Apple Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account and ensure that the billing of your subscription will be updated.

On the other hand, please know that my peer added information and updated certain details above. This is to ensure we provide accurate info regarding your concern.

In case you need further guidelines for effectively managing your business using QBO, you can read this article: Help guide for QuickBooks Online.
